Sydney Siders, If you know what the Doonside area looks like in the Western Suburbs, you would NEVER (and I mean never in a million years) guess that in the middle of the Nurragingy Reserve (Knox Rd) would be this hidden gem. The Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens was a late addition to the estate in 2013 and it's beautiful construction was a collaboration of ideas between Blacktown City Council and the Chinese Liaocheng Municipal Government to symbolise a gesture of friendship between the sistering cities.
The architectural designs are based on the Chinese Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Chinese Garden features a Gateway, Seven Arch Stone Bridge, Light Mountain Pavilion and Waterfall Gazebo. The view is nothing less of picturesque, a piece of oriental beauty admits the West. Come down to the Garden for a day with the family, a cute date or for time alone. Open everyday from 7am - 6pm the park offers not only wide grassy land to kick a ball around or sit around for a picnic but a serene tranquil atmosphere to escape from your reality.
This is one of my favourite places in Western Sydney and from these pictures you can see why
You'll leave this place wanting to come back again and again
xx Annie
