Explore Sydney!

Waddup SydneySiders!!!

We’ve created a short video for all of you guys to enjoy and see what Sydney has to offer!

You’ll be able to see us hit the town, visiting a few sites we absolutely love around Sydney! Of course, some of these are featured in some of our blog posts!

We had an awesome time filming and we hope you have as much fun watching it as much as we did filming!
Our final blog post consists of our video which will effectively tie together our blog posts, by showcasing the majority of Sydney’s attractions to our viewers. As such, we visited multiple places within Sydney and captured footage of all of us, whilst simultaneously compiling them to make a video to present to you Sydney Side Life blog followers! We believe this will attract our viewer’s attention as you will have video evidence of Sydney’s beauty to refer to and we hope this will aid you in finding new ways to have fun, explore and enjoy the Sydney Side Life. Annie was in charge of editing the footage we captured by compiling all captured footage and adding necessary annotations as she had technical expertise in this area. Teodora was also in charge of sequencing the video clips we obtained as well as assisting Annie in editing the video. In addition, Emmanuel and Ryan were in charge of actually capturing the footage of Sydney’s greatest attractions and to provide adequate footage to make a two minute video. The ending result was impressive and we had shared the work load evenly which has led to the creation of Sydney Side Life’s final blog post and highly successful vlog which remains relevant to the Sydney Side Life blog.

Cheers!

Botanical Gardens

Sydney Siders!

12166642_1174601712556436_1153039731_n.jpgWalking through the Botanical Gardens is such a relaxed and quiet way to see a different side of the busy, buzzing city of Sydney.

So breathe in the harbour air and the trees as you go by, it's an easy walk and the views and sights won't disappoint! The best views of the Opera House can be found on your walk through the gardens...

So many beautiful flowers and trees at every step and a nice breeze from the harbour.

There are even free guided walks daily at 10.30am for individuals or small family groups who are interested in learning more about the Botanical Gardens, where you should allow about 1.5 hours.

Also... if you happen to be in Sydney during January or February, don't miss the wonderful of the St George Open Air cinema - A large screen is set on pylons in the water, with the Opera House, Harbour bridge and the city skyline as a backdrop, YES PLEASEEEE!

Enjoy the rest of the week, the weekend is near!!

Nurragingy Chinese Gardens

Sydney Siders, If you know what the Doonside area looks like in the Western Suburbs, you would NEVER (and I mean never in a million years) guess that in the middle of the Nurragingy Reserve (Knox Rd) would be this hidden gem. The Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens was a late addition to the estate in 2013 and it's beautiful construction was a collaboration of ideas between Blacktown City Council and the Chinese Liaocheng Municipal Government to symbolise a gesture of friendship between the sistering cities.

The architectural designs are based on the Chinese Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Chinese Garden features a Gateway, Seven Arch Stone Bridge, Light Mountain Pavilion and Waterfall Gazebo. The view is nothing less of picturesque, a piece of oriental beauty admits the West. Come down to the Garden for a day with the family, a cute date or for time alone. Open everyday from 7am - 6pm the park offers not only wide grassy land to kick a ball around or sit around for a picnic but a serene tranquil atmosphere to escape from your reality.

This is one of my favourite places in Western Sydney and from these pictures you can see why

You'll leave this place wanting to come back again and again

xx Annie

ArtHouse

Don't you love those nights where there a good vibes radiating all over?
Where there is absolutely nothing wrong in your life?
That's how I feel every time I go to ArtHouse on a Friday night.

ArtHouse Nightclub is situated in ArtHouse Hotel, The Galleries, Pitt St
It's one of THE BEST places to be on a Friday night and the main reason for this is that it is the home
of the beloved and most amazing Rnb Soul band in Sydney -
                                  BROWN SUGAR
If you are a lover of live music, Brown Sugar covers old school classics to recent radio hits but with their own
soul spin to it.
The band consists of these talented musicians:
  • Lady Lyric & Miguel George - Vocals
  • Michael Dolce - Guitar
  • Bryon Luiters - Bass
  • Deni Di Filippo - Drums
  • Jonathon 'JC' Careo - Keys & Sax

BROWN SUGAR - 2008 @ THE BASEMENT

You can tell that they love what they do. Their amazing chemistry has been developed over the decade they've spent playing with each other. Their passion for their art and their audience makes every performance breathe life into every soul in that room. Doors open by 5, with DJ Trey starting the set off at 7pm. Brown Sugar follows playing 2 sets on the night with the whole room dancing and singing along - no matter what age or gender. Their most requested cover is Shackles by Mary Mary - no voice goes unsung when that is played.

Affordable drinks, free entry, outstanding music - it's a Friday night done right.
Favourite Friday night whenever I'm at ArtHouse, I guarantee you'll ooze happiness walking through those doors

xx Annie
